My friend and I had an outstanding experience with Jane and Barbara from Munich Greeters. They met us in the evening and not only showed us around the city, providing some fascinating information about the different sights, but also provided great conversation over a fabulous dinner at a restaurant recommended by Jane. They were incredibly generous with their time. We spent our time in Munich following various tips from Jane and had a much richer experience as a result. Thank you so much!!
I'd highly recommend using the Munich Greeters when visiting the city, and I'll definitely be checking other greeter organisations out in the future.

We met up with Yvonne in Munich's Altstadt. We had 2 young boys in tow (4 and 1yr old). She did an excellent job selecting areas that would excite all of us. We visited a chocolate shop, macaron shop, bakery, the big Viktaluien Market. She also had some good stories and showed us some great places to eat. We had a great visit and we were very happy we chose to do this. Thanks Yvonne!

Hallo Yvonne, hallo Munich Greeters,
ein toller München-Nachmittag war das! Begonnen mit einem perfekten Zusammentreffen ging es weiter mit schönen kleinen und großen Ecken, Plätzen und Orten, originellen Nischen und leckerem Eis. Es war informativ, "sinn-voll" und wir hatten eine richtig gute Atmosphäre. Wirklich empfehlenswert mit Lust auf mehr. Vielen Dank!

I really enjoyed the greet with Yvonne to see the not so known sides of Munich. She knew lots of interesting details about the many places we passed by and it was great to discover a side river of the Isar in the green in the midst of the town centre!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in München mit unserem Greeter. Er konnte uns viel von der Innenstadt erzählen und zeigen, ging auf unsere Wünsche ein und nahm sich sehr viel Zeit für uns. Ich finde die Greeter eine super Idee und habe dieses ehrenamtliche Angebot sehr geschätzt und werde es wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

We had a wonderful tour of Munich with Barbara and Ramona. They were both so kind and informative. It was the perfect introduction to the city and a great start to our visit. Thank you to Munich Greeters for making this extraordinary experience possible!

Dachterrasse Bayerischer Hof
Ist für Liebhaber der zu warmen Rotweine und schlechten Service zu empfehlen. Nach der Reklamation der Rotweintemperatur har der Terrassenmanager angeboten "ein paar Eiswürfel" zu bringen!!! Wenigstens das essen war in Ordnung.
Am selben Morgen haben wir auf der Dachterrasse gefrühstückt und ich hatte mir das große Frühstück für über dreißig Euro gegönnt. Auf drei Ebenen Tablett verteilt wurden dann einige Scheiben Emmentaler, ein paar Stückchen Brie und zwei Sorten Wurstaufschnitt verteilt die sehr stark nach ALDI-Packung-auf-Inhalt-drauf ausgesehen hatten. Dazu ein paar UNGEWASCHENER (!!!) Trauben, die in der Speisekarte als "Frische Früchte" angekündigt waren. Gesamter Eindruck: enttäuschend. Die Betreiber geben sich keine Mühe.

Auch als Geburtstagsgeschenk ist eine Tour mit dem Munich Greeters sehr zu empfehlen!! Am Samstag, den 1. August und dem Geburtstag von Lennart, waren wir mit Annette in Haidhausen unterwegs. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und obwohl wir schon seit ein paar Monaten in München sind, haben wir sehr viel Neues entdeckt. Gleich zweimal zog es uns an dem Wochenende zurück an die neu entdeckten Orte. Es war toll. Danke, liebe Annette!

Vielen lieben Dank an Sabine, die unsere Gruppe von 4 Frauen an einem superheissen Tag stets gutgelaunt und geduldig durch Haidhausen und Schwabing führte. Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, zusammen mit ihr idyllische Plätze und Biergärten, originelle Läden und schöne Cafés zu entdecken. Mit vielen guten Tipps ausgestattet, haben wir auch noch während des weiteren Aufenthalts in München von Sabines Insiderwissen profitiert. Ein dickes Dankeschön nochmals an Sabine und die Munich Greeter!

Thanks to Munich Greeters for the fantastic opportunity to get to see Munich through the eyes of our wonderful greeter, Elisabeth. Despite the very hot day, she spent hours showing us the splendors of the city, including a delightful tour of the market. Her knowledge and love of art was an added bonus! We also enjoyed Barbara's company, who intends to become a greeter herself ….we have no doubt she'll be great! Thank you Elisabeth, for turning our few hours in Munich into such a wonderful and enriching experience!

Sincere and heartfelt thanks (viele Dank) to Lis and Frank for the many hours that you spent showing us your most beautiful and historic city. The day that you both dedicated to us gave us a better understanding of the German culture, history and the magnificent section of Munich that you choose to share with us. Spending time with you both was certainly the highlight of our three weeks in Italy, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria and Germany. Speaking with you and hearing your ideas and philosophy will always be a cherished memory.

vielen Dank für den grandiosen Spaziergang durch die Marxvorstadt. Dank dir weiß ich jetzt, wo man den besten Kaffee, das kühlste Bier und den heißesten Club finde. 😉
Kann solch eine Tour jedem ans Herz legen, der abseits vom Getümmel, die wunderlichen Kleinigkeiten in München entdecken möchte.

Dear Brigitte, a super day of real interest, I really appreciated your selection of very different and modern churches and your expert knowledge of the religions and customs.
It was very clear that you had a real insider's view of the city and the tram rides were something I would probably have found difficulty finding!
Having visited Bavaria a number of times it was fascinating to have many things pointed out which I would have completely missed- those small details of architectural interest we all too easily take for granted. It certainly made much more of a tour.
I felt at ease and enjoyed the experience of your theological and cultural experience.
I've enjoyed the company of many Bavarian friends over the years but I have to say that there was never any problem at all with English, a superlative command indeed, something I wish I had!
This is a wonderful idea and the level of expertise is quite something.
Many thanks indeed, I shall be able to venture into the city with much more confidence now.

Thank you for arranging a most agreeable Greet with Elisabeth. I asked for someone pleasant, appreciative of the arts and who loves Munich and Elisabeth was all that and more. She certainly brought a Munich to me that I would not otherwise have found.
