My companion and I spent a couple days in Munich in March of 2015 and we were greeted by Tobias. He instructed us on how to purchase bus and tram passes and spent hours showing us Munich that we would have overlooked otherwise. We learned why things are they way that they are — Munich's back-stories — and we enjoyed our time with him greatly. It is almost as though we made a new friend.

I was a little wary of the greeter program: I'd never heard of such a thing before and it seemed naive to believe that it was not some sort of ruse or gimmick, however, scheduling a Munich Greeter guide was one of the really, really smart things that we did when planning our vacation.
