Einen ganz herzlichen Dank an Monika!

We would like to thank Eberhard for his interesting tour of Munich. He walked us through the city for almost 4hrs. The number of attractions we saw in such a short time would not have been possible if we where to do this by ourselves. He showed us photographs of how Munich use to look and how a canal is actual still existing under the city street. He taught us the local way to eat sausages and introduced us to the local beer. Thank you very much for your time and effort.

Hallo Eberhard (Elbs), liebe Greeter
wie schon im letzten Jahr in Brüssel, haben wir drei Ehepaare aus dem Münsterland, uns dieses mal auf Christi Himmelfahrt die Schönheiten der Münchener Altstadt durch Eberhard zeigen lassen. Kein Wanderführer und kein Buch kann so schön und anschaulich die eigene Stadt erklären, wie jemand der seine Heimat liebt. So war es ein wunderbarer Beginn unseres Kurzurlaubs und viele Tips von Eberhard konnten bis Sonntag genutzt werden, um München zu genießen. Dafür "Herzlichen Dank" und auf Wiedersehen München.

Wow!
My wife and I were in Munich for one night and didn't know what to do other than aimlessly walk around our hotel area. We thought we had no where near enough time to make doing anything else worthwhile. We got in touch with Munich Greeter (more in hope than anything!) and Frank responded.
I couldn't imagine a better guide. His English was absolutely perfect. In the 3hrs we spent with him walking around the Marienplatz area of Munich, I think we learnt more about that area's history than we did about London even though we spent an entire week there! (Slight exaggeration, but Frank was honestly that good). It always nice to talk to someone who clearly loves the area and is constantly learning as he goes. So many little things we would never have noticed, but were the result of absolutely crucial moments in German (or even world) history. Amazing.
The only downside is that I now wish we chose to spend a few more nights in Munich rather than setting off for the Alps the next day 🙁
Highly recommended.

My family and I have just relocated to Munich. I can't thank Munich Greeter enough for introducing us to Jane. She was wonderful even before we arrived — so helpful and willing to share information. We had an informative and fun tour with her this past Thursday. She was so generous with her time and knowledge. The kids, my husband and I, had a great time! Thanks to Jane and kudos to the Munich Greeters for such a wonderful introduction to this beautiful city!

We had a fantastic tour of Munich with Jane and Barbara on the 1st of April.
They were so nice with us! The exchanges were very interesting and enriching for us.
Jane was extremely knowledgeable about the history and current culture of Munich.
She had prepared the visit very well for us, and had some books, cards, good adresses to give us.
They showed us many places in the center of Munich: to visit, or for drinking or eating. They gave us some advices for all our stay. We enjoyed a lot our tour with them.
We met them in the morning and they finally spend the day with us! It really was a really nice meet for us.
I don't have enough words and my English is too poor to explain how much it was enjoyable.
We highly recommend to do a greet with Jane!

Christel and Hartmut gave me a very informative tour of the centre of Munich. They showed me the sights, explained lots of the history and made it so much more enjoyable than taking a standard city tour. They also gave me tips about how to make the most of my time in Munich. I highly recommend meeting up with a Greeter. Thank you Christel and Hartmut!

Wir hatten einen total verregneten Samstag mit Yvonne im münchner Osten, der trotz des Wetters ein absolutes Highlight war. Da wir die ersten waren, die sich für den Stadtteil Trudering interessierten betraten wir mit Yvonne Neuland. Interessante Informationen rund um eingesessene Familien-,schöne alte münchner Häuser-, Geschichten aus der Zeit des Riemer Flughafen- als auch Kräuterkunde im sich anschliessenden Waldtrudering waren überraschend und genial. Glück hatten wir, dass Frank -auch Greeter- dabei war, der uns noch zusätzlich mit tollen Infos versorgte und mit dem wir den nächsten Greet machen werden. Yvonne hat es verstanden uns auch mit Detailwissen so gut zu unterhalten, dass die Zeit wie im Fluge verging. Vielen lieben Dank für den tollen Vormittag !!! Gabriele und Marco 🙂

Ich hatte einen tollen Tag mit Christine in München, ihr geschichtliches Wissen ist beeindruckend und sie kann es auf eine sehr nette Art vermitteln. Sie kennt darüber hinaus viele kleine nette Anekdoten so daß es trotz viel "trockener Geschichte" nie langweilig oder zuviel wurde. Ich komme gerne wieder und finde es wunderbar, daß es die greeters gibt!

Wir kommen gerade von einem wunderbaren Stadtspaziergang mit Christel zurück. Gut 2 Stunden ist sie mit uns durch die Münchner Innenstadt gegangen. Dabei haben wir viel historisches aber auch viele nette typisch münchner Details erfahren. Außerdem hat sie es geschafft dies alles auch für meine beiden 14 und 15 Jahre alten Töchter interessant zu gestalten.

We had a fantastic tour of Munich with Eberhard on 16 March! He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and current culture of Munich. He was very well prepared with several historic maps, pictures, and renderings so we could compare what we were currently seeing with what it had looked like in the past. He also showed us several practical places (markets, wine and craft brew shops) in our neighborhood that made our stay extremely enjoyable. We met him around 1300 and had a full day tour that ended around 2200 and saw much of historic Munich as well as some of the local shops and beer halls for lunch and dinner. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Eberhard and very much appreciate his time and energy showing us around Munich. Booking this tour at the beginning of our 8 days there was the best thing we could have done and would highly recommend doing the same. Munich is such an amazing city and it made it even more enjoyable to know the history behind what you are seeing!

Mit Annette verbrachte ich ein paar schoene Stunden am gestrigen
Sonntag.Wir hatten viel Spass und sie ist ganz auf meine Wuensche
eingegangen.Ich hatte mich recht kurzfristig angemeldet und trotzdem hatte es spontan geklappt.
Gerne komme ich wieder auf sie zurueck, wenn ich in Muenchen das naechste mal bin.

I saw the city with Daniel, a young Civil Engineering student who took me around Munich on February 20. We met at Marienplatz and started the tour from there. One of the first places we saw was the Frauenkirche, where Daniel mentioned that the church was built in only 20 years time. He pointed out the very small representations of faces embedded in the high ceiling and said that they were probably the faces of the workers who had built the church. He also told me the story about the Devil's footprint and the wind around the church that is the Devil's horse.
We also saw the old royal Munich residenz, the brass lions (rub the nose of the lion with your left hand for good luck), the Viktualienmarkt, the most expensive shopping street in Munich, the Hofbräuhaus (where I saw the rack where locals keep their beer tankards), and other historical places.
My request for a Munich Greeter was made only a week before I left so I was glad that Daniel was able to help.

Vielen lieben Dank an Christine ! Sie hat uns viele Plätze und Sehenswürdigkeiten in München gezeigt und konnte uns viel über die Geschichte Münchens erzählen. I want to thank Christel for guiding me through the city center, it was really amazing, she showed me all interesting places around the city center and told me about the history of those places, as well as the history of Munich and of Bavaria, my experience in Munich was really amazing as I could share with my friends no only photos but also a bit of history of Munich. 🙂

We wanted to say a big thank you to Jane who showed us around Munich's Old Town. We met on the first morning of our stay, and her help was invaluable in orientating us. Her advice meant we could make more of of our stay, and got to see things we wouldn't otherwise have thought about. It was wonderful to be welcomed to Munich by Jane's enthusiasm and friendliness. We learned much about the Bavarian culture as well, which made us feel more at home for our stay. We would thoroughly recommend a Munich Greeter and thoroughly recommend Jane! Thank you.

Vielen lieben Dank an tobias, der mir München von seiner besten Seite gezeigt hat. Eine sehr nette freundliche Person mit einer tollen Stadtkenntnis und unheimlich spannenden Geschichten zu allen möglichen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Vor allem war meine Anfrage sehr kurzfristig und wurde innerhalb von 8 stunden bearbeitet. Vielen herzlichen Dank!!! Dadurch hat mein Besuch in München direkt supergeil angefangen!
