I discovered Greeters in a green touristic French guide of Munich (incredible)!
I really very much enjoy Christel journey in the center of Munich. She spoke about history of the city, giving some nice historical stories.
I discovered with her Dirndl stores, that I would never find by myself. She shows me typical Bierstube and gave me a lot of advices for the next days, to visit Munich in another way.
A wonderful way to discover Munch.
DO NOT HESITATE, visit Munich with a Greeter! It will be like if a friend of yours would show you his/her favorite town area and places.
From now, I am speaking to all my friends about greeters all around the world!

Liebe Annette, vielen Dank für den interessanten Sonntagsspaziergang durch Dein Schwabing. Du hast uns so viele schöne Ecken dieses Stadtteils gezeigt, dass wir sie unbedingt nochmals in Sommerstimmung erkunden müssen. Aus den angekündigten 2 Stunden sind durch die abschließenden Kaffeerunde fast das Doppelte geworden und es war keine Minute langweilig. Für uns war es erst der 2. Greet und der erste hier in Deutschland und es macht immer wieder Spaß, mit "Eingeborenen" ihre Stadt zu erleben.

My husband and I met Eberhard during our stay in Munich and it was a beautiful experience. Eberhard is a very nice person, very talkative and friendly. It is immediately clear that he likes being a greeter very much and he does it with great passion. He has so many interests that it's very easy to find topics to discuss. He is a cultivated man with a great knowledge of art and culture, not only German, that he is very much willing to share. Thank you again, Eberhard!! All the best to you! and don't forget our hometown. I found out that Greeters are based there too. Antonella e Giovanni

wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle noch einmal ganz herzlich für das tolle Greet mit Tina im Dezember durch das Glockenbach- und Schlachthofviertel bedanken. Ich kannte das Greeter-Konzept bereits aus Hamburg und fand es dort bereits total bereichernd. Da nun ein Wochenendtrip mit meiner Freundin in München an stand und ich gesehen habe, dass auch in München Greets angeboten werden, habe ich nicht lange gezögert und ein Kontaktformular ausgefüllt. Prompt haben wir bereits einen Tag nach der Anfrage eine erste Email von Tina erhalten. Bereits der erste Kontakt mit ihr war sehr positiv und angenehm, wodurch die Vorfreude auf den anstehenden Termin stieg. Sie hat uns bereits im Vorfeld mit Rat und Tat und vielen tollen Tipps per Email zur Seite gestanden. Obwohl wir über vier Stunden zusammen unterwegs waren, war unser Spaziergang total kurweilig, weil Tina uns mit spannenden Informationen und Geschichten rund um die Viertel versorgt hat. Besonders toll fand ich die einzelnen Geschichten, die sie uns ausgedruckt aus einem Buch zu bestimmten Sehenswürdigkeiten mitgebracht hat.
Wir sind total begeistert von dem Konzept und würden jederzeit wieder an einem Greet teilnehmen. Vielen Dank nochmal an Tina für den schönen Tag! 🙂

Zu Silvester hatten wir eine wunderbare Führung durch das Schwabing von Annette, und das trotz Kälte! Die gezeigten Ecken waren sehr schön und teils abseits von den großen Touristenströmen. Es hat viel Spaß gemacht und ich kann jedem empfehlen das Greeter-Programm auszuprobieren.

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Christine. Sie hat uns 2 wunderbare Stunden durch Münchens Altstadt geführt und uns dabei anschaulich, interessant und kurzweilig Münchens Geschichte näher gebracht. I have a Bayern plate with the names of maybe family members and their coat of Arms arranged around the circle with different designs. Their are 12 different names. I will attempt to put them in order from 1-12…like a clock. Landshut, Lindau, Passau, Hofi/B, Erlangen, Nuernberg, Eichstaett, Starubing, Regensburg, Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Muenchen. On the back of the plate it has an oblong figure with a angel in it. I believe it's made of maybe zinc or aluminum. Or puter…not spelled right but I couldn't find it the dictionary?? We spent three days in Munich. Our last day was with Munich Greeter, Mark. This was our favorite day of Munich. He was kind enough to meet us in our hotel lobby and rearranged his usual tour route to accommodate for us. Mark took us all over the city giving us an insider guide of architecture, culture, and history. It was amazing how much he knew about the city. He gave great restaurant suggestions, knew where to pop in and out of for hidden gems and views of the city. We had lunch together in the winter palace on a sunny day while drinking the German wine that came recommended by Mark.
We cannot thank Mark enough for his time and hospitality.

Herzlichen Dank an Manuela und Sabine, die uns im Oktober durchs Glockenbachviertel und Haidhausen geführt haben. Es waren trotz mäßigem Wetter sehr interessante Spaziergänge, die uns zum einen an Orte brachten, die wir schon aus unserer Münchner Zeit von vor 20 Jahren kannten, und uns zum anderen in uns ganz unbekannte Ecken Münchens geführt haben. Many thanks to Eberhard for a wonderful tour of Munich. He was well prepared, informative and gave us great info about Munich and its history. He was also very helpful with our itinerary, mentioning sites to see during our travels through Bavaria. We highly recommend taking a tour with Eberhard, it was one of the best tours we've had.

Herzlichen Dank an Christine. Sie führte uns ( Fam. mit erwachsenen Kindern) sehr unterhaltsam durch die Altstadt Münchens. Die Führung hatte ein gutes Konzept, mit vielen geschichtlichen Erläuterungen, in einer lockeren, gemütlichen Art uns nähergebracht. Einfach nur zum Weiterempfehlen. Toll, mach weiter so.

We would like to thank our Greeter Christel and Greeters Munich. On the first day of our week's stay in the beginning of September we had the pleasure of meeting her, and she guided us through the higlights of this wonderful city. We could talk in German about history, culture and politics and got lots of ideas for the other days of our stay. We highly recomment contacting Munich Greeters when visiting the city. And being a Greeter myself in my home town, it gave me new ideas for my walks with guests there. We certainly hope to return!

Der Stadtspaziergang mit Frank Esslinger war wunderbar. Obwohl wir München bereits kennen, haben wir viel Neues erfahren von unserer schönen Altstadt und freuen uns eine weitere Führung. Vielen Dank, lieber Frank, für diesen tollen Tag. Beste Grüße von Franziska und Reinhard, Wolfgang und Monika
